5 new things about the 2014 MacBook Pro Retina

The newly-released MacBook Pro 2014 still has its thin and light physique that we all love. And maybe, just like me, you were wondering what’s up with this “improved” MacBook Pro.

Let me tell you one thing, it’s not only a mere advertisement. And here are the five reasons why:

1)    Mac OS X Yosemite upgrade
After Mac OS X Mavericks, here comes another powerful operating system from Apple: Mac OS X Yosemite. This OS makes your life easier with so much simplicity. It introduces a Today View feature in Notification Center to give you a quick look at everything. You can also add widgets from the App Store to customize what you see.

2)    Faster Processors
Yes, the 2014 MacBook Pro Retina is packed with faster, more powerful processors. The 13-inch MacBook Pro has dual-core Intel Core i5 processors up to 2.8 GHz with Turbo Boost speed for up to 3.3 GHz. The 15-inch model, however, has quad-core Intel Core i7 processors with speeds of up to 2.8 GHz with Turbo Boost speed of 4.0 GHz. If this kind of processor doesn’t define your idea of a super laptop, I don’t know what will.

3)    More Memory
As a media enthusiast currently practicing the sorcery of video editing and sequencing, I love MacBook Pro’s enhanced memory. The 13-inch MacBook comes with 8GB RAM, twice the memory of the previous-generation MacBook Pro with Retina display. Entry-level configurations of the 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina now offer 16GB of RAM, also double the RAM found in its predecessor. The additional memory definitely makes multitasking easier.

4)    Powerful apps for free!
For video professionals out there, rejoice because the iLife app comes free with every new Mac. Combine it with the iMovie app and you can now make perfect videos. iWork is also available for free so you can use Pages, Numbers, and Keynote app to create stunning documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.

5)    Lower Price
I know that all of you will agree that this is actually the best part. The price of the 15-inch 2014 MacBook Pro with Retina Display, with discrete graphics, has dropped to $2499 from its previous price of $2599. Non-Retina 13-inch MacBook Pros are also now more affordable at $1099 (previously $1199). What more could you ask for?

Apple made their already amazing MacBook Pro with Retina display line even more powerful and outstanding. With more memory, faster processors, a new OS, free apps, and lower prices, the 2014 MacBook Pro Retina is not something you want to pass up. In fact, I need to get one now.
