Watch the iTunes Festival on Apple TV and iOS

Wish you were coming to the iTunes Festival kicking off on Tuesday at SXSW? If you weren’t lucky enough to score tickets to the event, don’t despair. You can still keep up with iTunes Festival through the iTunes Festival channel on Apple TV and the official iTunes Festival app for iOS.

Just this weekend, Apple added the official iTunes Festival channel to Apple TV. The channel provides everything there is to know about the festival, including performance times and biographical information for the acts performing at the festival. The channel also gives curious users a brief history of the festival as well as a background of SXSW.

Once the performances start, the iTunes Festival channel will provide live HD streams of each act on the stage. Links to media on the iTunes store are available on the channel, too. Through this channel, any subscriber can tune in to the iTunes Festival online.

iPad and iPhone users can get in on the action through the iTunes Festival app, too. Intended as an interactive multimedia companion to the festival, the app is designed to be the ultimate source for photos and streaming and on-demand videos from the event. One great feature of this app is that it doesn’t require iOS 7.1, so even users of older iOS versions will be able to enjoy the iTunes Festival app.

The iTunes Festival brings five nights of free concerts to the South by Southwest music conference at Austin, Texas. Musical acts slated to take the stage include London Grammar, Pitbull, Kendrick Lamar, Keith Urban, Imagine Dragons, and Coldplay. 2014 marks the first year the iTunes Festival is being held on US shores, as the festival has been held in London since its debut in 2007.

Make sure you subscribe to the iTunes Festival channel or download the iTunes Festival app today so you don’t miss any of the action. Having trouble with the app on your iPhone or iPad?
