Apple reveals upgraded MacBook
Apple officially unveiled the MacBook this week, one laced with upgrades that aimed to improve the performance of the device.
The upgrades include the integration of the latest Intel processors, graphics chips, flash storage, and battery life beneath the all-metal unibody enclosure. The result of these revisions has led to the thinnest and lightest manufactured Mac. It also integrated a fourth finish, rose gold, onto its current options of gold, silver and space gray.
According to Apple Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller, “MacBook is the thinnest and lightest Mac we have ever made and it’s our vision for the future of the notebook. Customers are going to love this update to MacBook, with the latest processors, faster graphics, faster flash storage, longer battery life and a beautiful rose gold finish.”
Dubbed as the notebook’s future, the MacBook totes a stunning 12-inch Retina display, a highly responsive full-size keyboard and Force Touch trackpad, and a solitary USB-C port for which it can charge, transfer data, and provide video output. All of those features coming in a fan-less design that has no moving parts inside and just weighs just 2 pounds and is 13.1mm thin. It is also equipped with the latest wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, while the software is already pre-installed with OS X El Capitan, as well as a cadre of apps like the iWork suite, iMovie, and GarageBand.
The updates on the MacBook now feature a faster 1866MHz memory and PCIe-based flash storage, as well as sixth-generation dual-core Intel Core M processors that go up to 1.3GHz, with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.1GHz.
