MacMall’s Guide to Technology Lent
The Lenten season is upon us. Whether you plan on giving something up until Easter (chocolate, soda, TV) or going about your day, business as usual, MacMall has some simple ideas to help curb your tech-dependencies.
- Phone-Stack Game – This one’s easy. Anytime you’re out with friends or loved ones, whether it be a sit-down meal, a cup of coffee or an ice cream cone, have everyone in your party stack their phones in the center of the table. No one can touch their phone, check a message or answer a call for the duration of the meal/cup/cone. If someone can’t resist? They get stuck with the entire bill! If you’re worried about scratching that fancy new iPhone, check out our Otterbox iPhone Defender Case, one of the best and most popular!
- Trim TV Time – The number of television shows you can watch on your Apple TV, computer, or cable network is astounding. Hours of our lives can get sucked away. So this Lenten season, cut back. Commit to trimming your boob-tube viewing by half. What to do with your extra time? Take a walk, read a book, listen to your iPod, take a bubble bath – the possibilities are endless!
- Skip the Surf – On average, we spend 4-6 hours per day on a computer. Whether it’s for work or for leisure, that’s a lot of screen time! So skip the web surfing and get on your MacBook Air or MacBook Pro with purpose. Check personal email once per day and only log in to Facebook once a day to check for updates and notifications.
